At the last minute the show’s bosses decided that there would be a sing-off for the first time in the semi-finals. As Dannii, Simon and Cheryl all voted to save Cher the 17-year-old wannabe made it through to the final, leaving upset Mary fans to assume the semi-final was fixed to sent Cher through. Ann Widdecombe: “It would have been a travesty if I’d stayed”
Moving on from The X Factor to Strictly Come Dancing; Ann Widdecombe has admitted the public did the right thing in voting to send her home. The controversial contestant made it to week 10 of the dancing competition despite always being the bottom of the judge’s leader board. Last night Ann found herself in the bottom two along with EastEnders’ Scott Maslen, “It would have been a travesty if I had stayed and Scott has gone out,” admits Ann. “It would have would have been quite wrong.
