Dow Jones futures outlook september 10 2012
Dow Jones futures outlook september 10 2012 ; ahead of a meeting by Federal Reserve policy makers who are expected to announce new plans to stimulate a sluggish U.S. economy in response to a disappointing jobs report.
The U.S. government reported Friday that 96,000 jobs were created in the U.S. last month, fewer than economists had forecast. The unemployment rate fell to 8.1 per cent from 8.3 per cent, but only because many people gave up looking for work, so they were no longer counted as unemployed.
But market losses were kept in check, since investors now think the Fed might announce another round of bond-buying, known as quantitative easing, at its next meeting on Sept. 13 to help lower interest rates and thus boost loan growth.
On Friday, the Dow Jones industrial average rose following the U.S. jobs report, up 0.1 per cent to close at 13,306.64. The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 0.4 per cent to 1,437.92. The Nasdaq composite index rose less than 1 point to 3,136.42.
Today's support: - 13298.80 and 13233.62(main), where a delay and correction may happen. After that 13207.50. Break of the latter will give 13160.08, where correction also can be. Then follows 13119.20. Be there a strong impulse, we shall see 13083.70. Continuation will bring 13032.11.
Today's resistance: - 13387.35(main), where a delay and correction may happen. Break would bring 13411.82, where a correction may happen. Then follows 13435.12, where a delay and correction could also be. Be there a strong impulse, we'd see 13466.20. Continuation would bring 13488.73

Dow jones futures for 8/21/2012, DJIA august 21 2012 : U.S. stocks closed lower Monday, as bullish traders remained cautious due to dampened hopes for fresh action by the European Central Bank to cap borrowing costs and ahead of the minutes of the Federal Reserve’s latest policy meeting.

Dow Jones futures outlook august 20 2012
Dow Jones futures outlook august 20 2012 : U.S. stock prices rose on Friday after consumer sentiment figures beat expectations. At the close of U.S. trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended up 0.19%, the S&P 500 index was up 0.19% while the Nasdaq Composite index was up 0.46%. It was the sixth straight week of gains for the Dow and the S&P 500.
The Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan preliminary consumer sentiment index for August hit its highest level since May at 73.6, up from 72.3 last month, outpacing economists' forecasts for a 72.4 reading.
Meanwhile, the Conference Board reported that its leading index rose 0.4% in July, up from a 0.4% drop in June. Analysts were predicting the index to rise by 0.2%. The data came in wake of other indicators that pointed to an improving U.S. economy.
U.S. industrial production outpaced expectations in July, climbing 0.6%, above forecasts for a 0.5% increase. Retail sales in the U.S. jumped 0.8% in July after a 0.7% drop in June, shooting way past market expectations for a 0.3% increase.
The Dow Jones had a positive week for the last five sessions yet again. This finds the market at the 13,275 level, which is just below the 13,300 level needed to break to yet another high. This does indeed look bullish, and it should be suggested that every time there is
a fall in this market there are buyers to step in and pick it back up.
This very well could be in reaction to the idea of the Federal Reserve expanding quantitative easing during the month of September, but the reality is that it doesn’t matter why it’s doing this, just that it is. The market looks set to keep rising, and we fully expect to see 13,500 in the relative near future. Because of this, we are buying industrial stocks on pullbacks in general. We do not see the wisdom in shorting the Dow Jones 30 at this point in time.

Meanwhile, General Motors advanced 0.57% in late trading, amid reports the ousting of its global marketing chief, Joel Ewanick, was related to a hugely expensive sponsorship deal with England's Manchester United soccer club for which GM is paying twice as much as the team's previous automotive sponsor.
GM announced Ewanick’s resignation on Monday, a little more than two years after he joined the company to lead an overhaul of the company’s marketing strategy.
Also in the auto sector, Toyota was reportedly set to raise its 2012 global sales forecast to 8.8 million vehicles from the 8.58 million it had announced in February, thanks to solid auto sales in emerging economies.
Oil and gas major BP was also expected to be in the spotlight, as shares tumbled 387% in pre-market trade after the group reported a loss in the second quarter, due to lower output, falling oil prices and a near USD5.0-billion write down on the value of assets.
Other stocks in focus included Aetna, Electronic Arts, Goodyear, Pfizer and Valero Energy, all due to report results later in the day.
Across the Atlantic, European stock markets were mixed. The EURO STOXX 50 added 0.18%, France’s CAC 40 eased up 0.02%, Germany's DAX advanced 0.43%, while Britain's FTSE 100 fell 0.36%.
During the Asian trading session, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rallied 1.08%, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index advanced 0.69%.
Later in the day, the U.S. was to release industry data on house price inflation, a report on consumer confidence and data on manufacturing activity in the Chicago area.

dow jones futures for july 16 2012
dow jones futures for july 16 2012 : US stocks cut off a six-day losing streak on Friday, but sustaining the rebound and overcoming broader economic fears will require a solid run of second-quarter earnings reports over the coming week.

The Federal Reserve chairman is slated to give his semi-annual report on monetary policy before Congress on Tuesday and Wednesday, and once again Wall Street will be parsing his words for hints that the central bank is willing to pony up some additional quantitative easing sooner rather than later.

The main economic news scheduled to come out of Asia on Tuesday will be China's trade data for June. In Brussels, euro-zone finance ministers met for discussions on bailing out the Spanish banking system and creating a common regulator for the region's banks.
Euro-zone finance ministers reached a "political agreement" in the small hours of Tuesday on some details for a bailout to rescue Spanish banks, Jean-Claude Juncker, Luxembourg's prime minister and head of the Eurogroup, told reporters after the conclusion of the nine-hour meeting.
Spain also got a one-year extension to meet its deficit-reduction target, as had been widely expected. Yields on Spain's 10-years bonds rose to around 7% overnight, the point widely considered to be unsustainable, which damped sentiment in overnight trading.

Dow Jones futures prediction july 6 2012
Dow Jones futures prediction july 6 2012 : The European rate cut was bad news for the euro though. At $1.2390 early Friday, the single currency was steady after a 1.1% overnight fall that pushed it down to the lowest level late in New York since the end of May.
The next data point that investors are looking to is employment data from the U.S., out later Friday. Data on private-sector job growth in the U.S. topped estimates, which came out Thursday, increasing hopes that the closely watched U.S. nonfarm payrolls figures will also be strong.
There are some fears, however, that if hiring has picked up, the Federal Reserve will be less likely to introduce new stimulus measures when it meets later in the month

Dow Jones prediction next week june 11-15 2012
Dow Jones prediction next week june 11-15 2012 : Stocks rose for the fourth day in a row on Friday, capping their best week so far this year. It was a relief for investors after the big drops of the previous week.
Stocks fell in morning trading, with the Dow Jones industrial average down almost 63 points. But they turned around after the government said businesses are restocking their shelves faster than analysts had expected.
The Dow finished 93.24 points higher, or three-quarters of a percent, at 12,554.20. It ended the week up almost 3.6 percent.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 10.67 points, or 0.81 percent, to close at 1,325.66. The Nasdaq composite rose 27.40 points, or 0.97 percent, to close at 2,858.42.
The Labor Department will release May data for import prices on Tuesday. The cost of goods imported into the U.S. fell 0.5% in April, the first decline since October, as fuel prices retreated.
Meanwhile, data on producer prices and consumer prices will be released Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. The Producer Price Index, which measures the price of goods at the wholesale level, showed U.S. wholesale prices fell 0.2% in April as energy costs declined.
The Consumer Price Index, which measures the price of a fixed market basket of goods and services purchased by consumers, was unchanged in April from the prior month.
Financial Stability Oversight Council Meeting Set for Monday
The next meeting of the Financial Stability Oversight Council is scheduled for Monday, the Treasury Department said.
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner will lead the meeting, which is closed to the public.
Known as FSOC, the council comprises top financial regulators and was created by the Dodd-Frank financial-overhaul law. The council includes the heads of the Treasury, Federal Reserve, Securities & Exchange Commission, Commodity Futures Trading Commission and other agencies, and was formed to help coordinate regulatory action and head off another financial crisis.
As you can see from the above since last Friday’s 2.2% drop, the Dow had already broken away from the support pack. It is now vulnerable to more weakness and we will expect it to test its second support at 11735 next week. Due to the lack of base building in the next support level at 11735, we doubt the Dow can hold on much longer at that level. The large red candle from the breakout from the pack represents a very bearish sentiment in the NYSE and we expect further deterioration in the Dow next week.

For the latest updates on the stock market, PRESS CTR + D or visit Stock Market Today For the latest updates PRESS CTR + D or visit Stock Market news Today

U.S. Stock Market Dow Jones futures june 8 2012
U.S. Stock Market Dow Jones futures june 8 2012 : U.S. stock market futures traded lower on Friday, as investors turned jittery ahead of the weekend and data expected from China, and after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke didn't give stronger hints about monetary stimulus a day prior.
Around three hours before the start of trading, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell 31 points to 12375. The S&P 500 futures fell 4 points to 1306.10, while Nasdaq-100 futures fell 6.75 points to 2523.75. Changes in futures don't always accurately predict early market moves after the opening bell.
A day prior, Wall Street managed to give up the bulk of the day's gains after Mr. Bernanke said the central bank wants to review the economy before making a decision on more stimulus. The Standard & Poor's 500 index halted a three-session win streak, finishing slightly lower at 1314.99.
"Equities have had a good week so far, but investors are becoming increasingly jittery as we head into the weekend. As a consequence, many are taking the opportunity to take some risk off the table and book profits," said David Morrison, senior market strategist at GFT Markets, in emailed comments.
Mr. Morrison said Thursday's surprise rate cut from China helped take some sting out of disappointment over a lack of stimulus action from European officials.
"However, the Chinese rate cut (the first since the financial crisis in 2008) has spooked some investors ahead of the release of China's PPI, CPI, CPI.AT -10.00% industrial production, retail sales and fixed-asset investment tomorrow. There is a concern that the cut was a pre-emptive action ahead of poor data," he said.
As well, there remains plenty to worry about on the European front. Markets in Europe were under pressure, though Spain stocks erased losses and turned slightly higher after Reuters reported that the government could be close to asking for a rescue of its banks this weekend.
A representative from the European Commission said they had no news on a Spanish bailout request, while Spanish officials couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Fitch Ratings downgraded Spanish debt by three notches late Thursday to BBB, saying the costs of bailing out the banks could rise to €90 billion ($113 billion) to €100 billion in a negative stress scenario.
On the economic calendar, the trade deficit for April will be released at 8:30 a.m. EDT by the Commerce Department. Wholesale inventories for April will be released by the Commerce Department at 10 a.m. EDT.
Asian stocks skidded Friday after China's surprise rate cut ahead of a weekend of busy data for the country got investors nervous. The Nikkei Stock Average dropped 2.1% as investors cashed in on three days' worth of gains.
Commodities also fell sharply, with crude-oil futures tumbling $2.42, or 2.9%, to $84.41 a barrel, while gold futures for August delivery fell nearly $10, or 0.6%, to $1,578.70.
As commodities and stocks fell, the dollar rose across the board. The dollar index, which measures the dollar across a basket of major currencies, jumped to 82.749 versus 82.241 seen in late trade Thursday.
