U.S. Stock Dow Jones futures rose june 6 2012

U.S. Stock Dow Jones futures rose june 6 2012 ; U.S. stock-index futures pointed to a higher start for Wall Street Wednesday, with sellers reluctant to press the market lower in the wake of recent damage and ahead of a policy decision by the European Central Bank, strategists said.

Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 98 points to 12224. S&P 500 Index futures gained 12.1 points to 1297.20 and Nasdaq 100 futures advanced 23.75 points to 2512.50. Traders are wary of holding short stock-index positions ahead of today's ECB meeting, just in case the central bank decides to intervene further, Most economists expect the central bank to remain on hold, but hold out the possibility for some sort of action.

"Of course, if the ECB fails to take any action, then the sellers will return--feeling relatively safe in the knowledge that (tomorrow's Bank of England MPC meeting aside) there is unlikely to be any announcement of further central-bank intervention" until the Federal Reserve's policy meeting on June 19-20 For the latest updates on the stock market, PRESS CTR + D or visit Stock Market Today For the latest updates PRESS CTR + D or visit Stock Market news Today
