You'll find everything in the WD-65738 including Mitsubishi's signature StreamTV web apps and HD video content. For all that's included and its size, this is one of the most affordable DLP 3D TVs out there.
Design and Features
When it comes to features, again, the only difference between the WD-65738 and its three brothers is its size and price. Though, this model marks the difference in cabinet style to support its larger frame, taking on the same black bezel seen in both the WD-73738 ($2,099 to $2,399 street) and WD-82738 ($2,599 to $3,799 street).
Mitsubishi's DLP technology is still present throughout, again promising that cinema quality experience. Outside of its 3D capabilities, the WD-65738 puts outs all HD video formats through 1080p in a 1,920x1,080 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. While a VGA port is nowhere to be found, this line of Mitsubishi 3D TVs all include both Ethernet and optional wireless connectivity to take full advantage of both StreamTV and downloadable firmware updates.
The WD-65738 features four standard viewing modes found in the rest of the Mitsubishi 738 line: Brilliant, Bright, Natural and Game, which should come in handy when making full use of its three HDMI ports. In other words, say goodbye to the HDMI switcher.
But you're not out of the woods just yet. While we did say that the WD-65738 is one of the most affordable 3D TVs out and still stand by it, you will need to buy Mitsubishi's 3DC-1000 Starter Kit for $399.99 (street) to complete the 3D package. Inside is a 3D IR emitter and two pairs of 3D glasses, both essential to see 3D content. Plainly speaking, you should scratch that $1,800 and make it $2,200, though that still puts it well below similarly sized 3D-ready HDTVs.
Price Range Mitsubishi WD-65738 $1,385.00 - $1,799.99
