ASEAN Common Competency Standard for Tourism Professionals (ACCSTP)

ASEAN members agreed to the uniform system of certification of competency standards in tourism or the ASEAN Common Competency Standard for Tourism Professionals (ACCSTP).

The meeting was attended by representatives of Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

"This is the first meeting and Indonesia to lead the country in the discussion of the tourism workforce competence certification for a number of considerations, including Indonesia's seriousness in developing the tourism sector," said Putu. Discussion certification ASEAN tourism workforce competence or known as the ASEAN Tourism Professional Monitoring Committee (ATPMC) was a follow-up of the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) or standard competition of human resources (HR) areas of ASEAN tourism.

MRA was signed by ASEAN tourism ministers, January 29, 2010, and the signing of an agreement that MRA is a step forward in facing the liberalization of ASEAN countries in 2010 ASEAN tourism.
