European, Asian, US stock market news september 12 2011 : The European markets slipped to a negative zone as credit rating of French gets downgraded. Great Britain's FTSE 100 was down 1.86 percent or 96.94 points to 5,117.71. Germany's DAX slumped 2.52 percent or 130.57 points to 5,059.36. France's CAC 40 slipped 3.11 percent or 92.65 points to 2,881.94.

The Asian market ended the day's trading on a losing note with Japan's Nikkei 225 falling 2.31 percent or 201.99 points to end the day at 8,535.67. India's BSE 30 Sensex slumped 2.17 percent or 365.23 points to finish the day at 16,501.74. Hong Kong's Hang Seng tumbled 4.21 percent or 836.09 points to close at 19,030.54

The US market slipped to a new low by the afternoon session on the week's first trading day. Investors remained pessimistic about the global economic growth following possible downgrade of French banks credit rating and the failure of world's major economies to solve Greece's debt problem.

The Dow Jones industrial average lost 0.88 or 96.30 points to trade at 10,895.83. The Nasdaq Stock Market Inc. slipped 0.29 percent or 7.21 points to trade at 2,460.78.
