Starbucks Won't Match Costa Price Pledge

Starbucks 'Won't Match' Costa Price Pledge : The boss of Starbucks has told Sky News he cannot promise consumers a freeze in prices at the till.

In an interview to mark the company's 40th anniversary, Howard Schultz refused to match rival Costa Coffee's pledge not to raise prices but did not announce any increases.

He said international coffee prices had rocketed by 15% over the last year as a result of poor harvests. Starbucks, which started out as a single store in Seattle's Pike Place Market, has since expanded to 17,000 shops in 50 countries today.

The new logo Starbucks , launched to mark the anniversary, looks a lot like to the old one with the company name removed but with the twin-tailed Siren image retained.
Starbucks is keen to point out that the new look is twinned with a fresh approach too.

The company says the refurbished store in Knightsbridge’s Brompton Road is unique and designed to fit in with its neighbourhood.

It features reclaimed materials, one-off items of furniture and its environmental performance aims to reduce water and lighting energy consumption by up to 40%.
