coffee market prices today March 03 2011 : Arabica futures in New York closed nearly flat, despite tight supply fundamentals and increasing demand in grower nations, as much of the bullish news may have already been priced in. The nearby March contract edged up 0.20 cents to close at 269.50 cents/lb, close to the session's peak of 270.15 cents. The benchmark May contract ended slightly higher at 269.55 cents/lb, up 0.25 cents in dealings from 266.10 to 272.20 cents. The rest of the board gained between 0.10 to 1.70 cents. Total estimated futures volume dropped to 10,834 lots, down from 15,250 the previous session.

Robusta futures in London
ended lower, following losses in New York arabica markets in the previous session and after a recent bull run that took prices to new highs. March shed $10 to finish at $2,327 per tonne in dealings from $2,312 to $2,340. The most-active May contract closed at $2,363 a tonne, down $21, while the back months lost between $13 to $20. Total estimated futures volume decreased to 10,835 lots from 12,742 previously.
