Broadcom's fourth-quarter profit slipped 4.5%, failing to match the company's explosive year-ago earnings growth, though the chip maker's top line fell less than expected. The company also said it will boost its quarterly dividend by 11%, signaling its desire to satisfy investors during a challenging time for the broader semiconductor sector. Shares were up 1.9% to $35 after hours on the stronger-than-expected core results.

JDA Software swung to a fourth-quarter loss amid sharply higher litigation-related charges as a slowdown in the Americas continued to weigh on the supply-chain company's revenue growth. Shares dropped 9.7% to $26.60 after hours.

Aspen Technology Inc.'s (AZPN) swung to a second-quarter profit as revenue climbed more than it had forecast. Shares in the company--which provides software and services to energy, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries--were up 11% at $20 after hours.

Fortinet Inc.'s (FTNT) fourth-quarter earnings climbed 2.2% as the network-security company again reported double-digit billings growth. Shares jumped 9% after hours Tuesday to $24.86 on the stronger-than-expected results.

Myriad Genetics Inc.'s (MYGN) fiscal second-quarter earnings rose 17% as the diagnostic-testing company's revenue growth received a boost from an acquisition last year. Shares rose 5.2% to $24.90 after hours as Myriad also raised its per-share earnings estimate for the year.

Manitowoc Co. (MTW) swung to a fourth-quarter profit as its crane unit benefited from stronger growth. Shares rose 3.1% to $13.85 on a stronger-than-expected top-line result.

Ace Ltd. (ACE) reported its fourth-quarter earnings fell 25% as catastrophe losses jumped sharply from a year earlier.

Aflac Inc.'s (AFL) fourth-quarter earnings rose 25% on higher premiums and narrower investment losses, as the international insurance provider's core profit also increased.

Boston Properties Inc. (BXP) swung to a fourth-quarter profit as the office-property owner booked higher rental revenue despite a lower percentage of its portfolio being leased.

C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc.'s (CHRW) fourth-quarter earnings edged up 5.9% as the logistics company saw higher revenue in the key trucking business and intermodal segments more than offset declines in air and sourcing revenue.

C.R. Bard Inc.'s (BCR) fourth-quarter earnings fell 16% on charges as the medical-device maker also booked higher operating costs.

Cytec Industries Inc.'s (CYT) fourth-quarter earnings fell 13% as a tax-benefit boosted year-ago results, though revenue increased in the latest period.

Jack Henry & Associates Inc.'s (JKHY) fiscal second-quarter earnings rose 6.9% on the financial-services company reported higher support revenue and lower operating costs.

U.S. regulators granted Novartis AG's (NVS, NOVN.VX) cancer drug Gleevec regular approval for adult patients who have had a kind of stomach tumor surgically removed, expanding its potential use.
