UK stock market outlook december 5 2011

UK stock market outlook december 5 2011 : The FTSE 100 is called to open flat this morning with caution to the fore as the euro zone continues to be the main focus as investors await the Franco-German summit meeting today. News late yesterday that the Italian Prime Minister had unveiled a series of fiscal reforms to control the country's debts and more austerity measures in Ireland may help sentiment.

On the economic front, the latest HSBC PMI services data for China showed that the country's economy was slowing with the index falling to 52.5 from 54.1 in November. UK services data is due out this morning which will be followed by US non-manufacturing and factory order figures this afternoon (see below). Commodity prices are mixed and the key currencies are little changed as markets wait on more euro zone development news. For the latest updates on the stock market, visit Stock Market Today
