U.S. stocks markets S&P 500 futures rose oct 27 2011 : U.S. equity markets pointed to a sharply higher open. The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures pointed to a rise of 1.97%, S&P 500 futures signaled a 2.40% jump, while the Nasdaq 100 futures indicated a surge of 2.25%.

Later in the day, the U.S. was to publish preliminary data on third quarter GDP, as well as the GDP price index, the broadest measure of inflation.
