Sectoral indices closed mixed, with gainers led by financials that jumped 1.15% or 14.31 points to 1,261.67, and holding firms that leaped 1.11% or 47.29 points to 4,319.10. Property gained 0.71% or 13.34 points to 1,892.66.
Closing in negative territory, however, was mining and oil that slipped by 0.68% or 174.15 points to 25,527.95. Services shed 0.57% or 9.75 points to 1,714.21, while industrial erased 0.17% or 13.68 points to 7,872.58.
Decliners outweighed advancers 87 to 74, while 42 stocks were unchanged.
The PSEi rose 1.00% or 50.52 points to close at 5,097.30 last Friday, while the broader all-share index added 0.04% or 1.40 points to 3,405.26. --Franz Jonathan G. de la Fuente
