Baidu 1Q results outlook report april 24 2012, BIDU stock prediction april 24 2012 : Wall Street is optimistic about Baidu (BIDU), which is slated to report its first quarter results on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Analysts project a profit of 84 cents a share, a rise from 47 cents per share a year ago.

What to Expect:
The consensus estimate is up from three months ago when it was 83 cents, but hasn’t changed over the past month. For the fiscal year, analysts are projecting earnings of $4.63 per share.

Revenue is projected to eclipse the year-earlier total of $372 million by 82.1%, finishing at $677.5 million for the quarter. For the year, revenue is projected to come in at $3.57 billion.

Trends to Watch For:
Over the last four quarters, the company has seen an average of 69.3% year-over-year growth in revenue. The biggest rise came in the first quarter of the last fiscal year, with revenue growing 96.3% from the year-ago quarter.

Analyst Ratings:
The majority of analysts (87.5%) rate Baidu.com as a buy. This compares favorably to the analyst ratings of its nearest 10 competitors, which average 59.2% buys. Analysts have grown increasingly optimistic about the stock in the last three months.

Competitors:
Baidu.com is a Chinese-language Internet search provider. One of Baidu.com’s main competitors in the internet software and services industry is Google (GOOG). Other competitors in the information technology sector include: Sohu.com (SOHU), Sina (SINA), and Yahoo (YHOO).
