Barrick Gold's (C$46.64, -C$0.89, -1.9%) fourth-quarter net profit was little changed from a year earlier. Gold production and prices were higher, but so were cash costs. Adjusted earnings of $1.17 a share missed the Thomson Reuters mean estimate of $1.28.
Finning International (C$28.25, C$1.50, 5.6%) said fourth-quarter earnings rose to 41 Canadian cents a share from 32 Canadian cents and revenue rose 35% to a record level.
Goldcorp Inc. (C$46.42, C$1.20, 2.7%) said fourth-quarter net earnings fell 28%, though adjusted earnings improved to 66 cents a share from 58 cents and came in ahead of the Thomson Reuters mean estimate of 60 cents.
Kinross (C$10.83, C$0.48, 4.6%) posted a $2.78 billion fourth-quarter loss as a result of a nearly $3 billion impairment charge at its Tasiast project. But, it boosted its semi-annual dividend 33%.
