The Dow jumped nearly 3 percent to 12,103 on positive economic news on housing starts and good word on the Euro crisis. The S&P 500 rose 3 percent to 1,241, and the Nasdaq jumped by about the same amount to 2,603. Trading was, however, light, according to Dow Jones Newswires.
Trading likely will be light again Wednesday, as the holiday approaches.
