U.S. Steel (NYSE:X) shares prices dec 14 2011 : Shares of U.S. Steel (NYSE:X) opened today below their pivot of $26.06 and have already reached the first level of support at $25.23. Analysts will be watching for a cross of the next downside pivot targets of $24.67 and $23.28.

U.S. Steel has overhead space with shares priced $24.95, or 21.6% below the average consensus analyst price target of $31.83. The stock should find initial resistance at its 50-day moving average (MA) of $25.07 and further resistance at its 200-day MA of $37.64.

U.S. Steel share prices have moved between a 52-week high of $64.03 and a 52-week low of $18.85 and are now trading 32% above that low price at $24.95 per share. Over the past week, the 200-day moving average (MA) has gone down 1.2% while the 50-day MA has advanced 1.1%.
