Toyota market share forecast 2012

Toyota market share forecast 2012 ; The company cut its profit outlook to 180 billion yen ($2.3 billion), 54 percent down from its August estimate of a 390 billion yen, after the Thai floods forced plant closures and caused supply-chain problems.

The latest forecast is also lower than Toyota's net profit of 408.1 billion yen in the fiscal year ended March 2011. The maker of the Prius hybrid and Lexus forecast global vehicle sales would be 7.32 million units for the year ended March 2012, with revenue at 18.20 trillion yen, less than 19.00 trillion yen tipped earlier.

Toyota expects to control 20% of Venezuela's car market in 2012
Toyota de Venezuela, a subsidiary of Japanese Toyota car maker, expects to control 20% of the Venezuelan auto market next year, said Ignacio Mayz, general manager of Sales & Marketing. According to estimates by the Japanese subsidiary, sales in the Venezuelan automotive sector will amount to 140,000 units in 2012, including the vehicles assembled in Venezuela and those imported as a result of trade agreements between Venezuela and other countries. Toyota Kenya Sees Market Share Rising on New Assembly Plants
Toyota Motor Corp. (7203)’s Kenyan unit said it expects to see its share of the East African country’s vehicle market rising to 27 percent next year from 26 percent this year. Toyota commits to a future in Australia
TOYOTA has emerged from a massive natural disaster in Japan and industrial strife locally to issue a firm commitment to manufacturing in Australia. The car giant, which accounts for a hefty 18 per cent of the Australian market, today launched its seventh-generation Camry, with the model set to lead the medium-size, four-cylinder car market. Toyota Gains From U.S.-South Korea Free-Trade Agreement
The biggest beneficiary of the new trade agreement that will end South Korea's tariffs on U.S.-made cars may be based in Japan. Toyota Motor Corp. is looking to profit as it fights a rising yen blamed for an operating loss in its fiscal first half. Japan's biggest carmaker began exporting Sienna minivans from Princeton, Indiana, to South Korea this month and may do the same with Camry sedans next year, said spokeswoman Amiko Tomita. Toyota Motors, the Japan based leading car maker, is eying to roll-out its motorsports arm TRD (Toyota Racing Development) in the Indian market very soon. The Indian subsidiary of the firm has already received the approval from its Japanese parent and it has now started conducting the market study for analyzing the scope of motorsports and car performance tuning shops in the Indian market. Toyota Astra to Introduce 2 Sports Cars in Indonesia
Toyota Astra Motor, the local distributor for Japanese carmaker Toyota Motor Corporation, will introduce two sports sedans in Indonesia next year, a senior executive said on Friday. Widyawati Soedigdo, general marketing manager at Toyota Astra Motor, acknowledged that the market for sport cars was small in Indonesia, at less than 1 percent of total car sales, but said the Japanese auto giant wanted to add to its product line here.
