Officials say they are considering boosting the International Monetary Fund’s IMF) lending capacity for euro zone members in trouble. This was good news for investors. While markets are closing lower in Asia, they are opening higher in Europe.

The Nikkei 225 index was down 0.85 percent while the Hang Seng was down 1.36 percent on Friday. In Europe the FTSE 100 (England) is up 0.81 percent, the CAC 40 (France) is up 0.62 percent and the DAX (Germany) is currently 1.10 percent higher.
