On the Multi Commodity Exchange , gold for delivery in October rose by Rs 100, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 22,740 per 10 grams, with a business turnover of 108 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in August gained Rs 47, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 22,468 per 10 gram, with an open interest of 2,733 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators, supported by a firming trend in New York led to rise in gold futures prices.
