IIT Joint Entrance Examination 2011 - Joint entrance exam of IITs on April 10 : KANPUR: As many as 80,348 aspirants will be taking part in the joint entrance exam-2011 (JEE) in the Kanpur zone alone to be conducted by IIT-Kanpur across the country on April 10.

In all, 173 centres have been made for the students in UP, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh which come under the Kanpur zone. The aspirants will be selected to fulfill their dreams of graduating from the coveted IITs in the country. The city will have 32 examination centres.

IIT-K director SG Dhande said: "We will be accommodating more students for IIT-JEE examination this year. Twelve cities come under IIT-K zone in the three states of UP, Uttarakhand and MP. Around 525 IIT-K staff members will be required at 173 centres spread across 12 cities in three states for ensuring smooth conduct of the JEE exam on April 10."

A total of 4,85,262 students at 1,051 centres raised in 131 cities across the country will be taking part in the JEE exam this year.

Dhande said: "Elaborate measures have been taken for conducting free and fair examinations in the Kanpur zone. The number of invigilators in a particular room at a centre will vary according to the number of students."

The examinees will not be allowed to carry electronic gadgets like mobile phones and calculators inside the examination hall.

Dhande said that the results will be declared on May 25 after which the scanned images of optical response sheet (answer scripts) with the candidates' details will be displayed on the JEE website.
