Twitter trends: earthquake and tsunami in Japan : Twitter's most talked about topics are full of terms about a series of massive earthquakes that have ravaged Japan over the past few hours.

The region was hit by a 8.8 magnitude earthquake early on March 11 which subsequently triggered a 10-meter tsunami that swept through Japan's Miyagi Prefecture.

Twitter users are reacting to the news with second and third place hashtags "#prayforjapan" and "#tsunami."

Japan's "Sendai Airport" is in fifth place after it was inundated by the tsunami and "Tokyo Disneyland" is in eighth place as people tweet that "DisneySea is flooding and the parking lots is over flowing with water."

Microbloggers are also tweeting links to live news streams from Japan's NHK World and America's CNN with sixth and seventh place terms "NHK World" and "Watching CNN."

The name of action thriller movie Battle: Los Angeles ("#BattleLosAngeles") is promoted at the top of Twitter's most talked about topics and "Godzilla" is in tenth place.
