Future prices for wool march 21, 2011

Future prices for wool march 21, 2011 : Future prices for wool are as healthy as the current market prices. 1240c/kg is currently on offer for 21 micron greasy wool for up to six months out. 19 micron wools are fetching 1681c/kg.

Simon Hood from Michell Wool says these kind of offerings are nearly unheard of. Just like forward contracts for wool, auction prices are sky high also.

The Eastern Market Indicator is up 22c/kg to finish at 1370c/kg of clean wool and the northern market indicator is up 20c/kg to finish at 1427c/kg.

It was a massive week for broader microns.

At auction in Sydney, 20 microns are up 46c/kg to 1360c/kg, 22 microns are up 64c/kg to 1263c/kg and 23 microns are up 69c/kg to 1223c/kg.

The major buyers included Viterra Wool, Queensland Cotton and Techwool Trading.
