China's consumer inflation in 2011 will reach 5 percent

China's consumer inflation in 2011 will reach 5 percent on average due to rising international commodity prices, a central bank adviser was quoted by the China Daily as saying on Thursday.

Li Daokui, an academic member of the central bank's monetary policy committee, told the official newspaper that Beijing should not use yuan appreciation as a tool to address inflation.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said in his government work report to parliament that Beijing was targeting a 4 percent increase in the consumer price index (CPI) for 2011
