TUI Deutschland Extends Egypt Tour Cancellations

TUI Deutschland Extends Egypt Tour Cancellations : FRANKFURT -(Dow Jones)- TUI Deutschland, a German unit of U.K.-listed TUI Travel PLC (TT.LN), Thursday extended its tour cancellations to the cities of Cairo and Luxor in protest-torn Egypt up to Feb. 28 to give the company and its customers better planning options.

The travel company had earlier cancelled all tours to Egypt until Feb. 14.

The company noted tours to the Red Sea area remain cancelled until Feb. 14 only.

It also extended the timeframe for customers to cancel trips to Egypt free of charge. This now applies to arrival dates up to the end of February. The previous deadline was Feb. 14.

Thomas Cook AG
, the German unit of Thomas Cook Group PLC (TCG.LN), said Tuesday it had cancelled all tours to Egypt up to Feb. 14. Thomas Cook AG's customers can re-book trips with arrival dates before Feb. 28 without charge.

The German Foreign Ministry still strongly advises not to travel to any part of Egypt due to the unstable situation, it said on its website.
