Florida peanuts Higher prices

Florida peanuts Higher prices : FOLLOWING a poor year for US peanuts in 2010, Florida's growers are already being offered premiums much higher than last year's for the new crop.

Shellers have come out with offers of USD550 per (short) ton, compared with USD425-450/ton in 2010, Florida Peanut Growers Association executive director, Ken Barton, told the Jackson County Floridian. Buyers need to increase their supplies following a shortfall last year and are offering contracts at higher prices.
