Corporate Highlights

Giving in to rising input cost pressures, the country's largest carmaker by sales, Maruti Suzuki India has increased prices of its vehicles by up to Rs 8,000 across models, except its newly launched compact car Alto K10.

Automobile major Eicher Motors Ltd is mulling a greenfield facility for its Enfield Bullet and other two-wheelers that would meet the needs of the company for the next ten years. The company's two-wheeler division is called Royal Enfield and rolls out the Enfield Bullet, Thunderbird and other high-powered motorbikes.

Supreme Infrastructure India has won Rs 1,150 crore toll road project in Maharashtra from National Highways Authority of India
(NHAI). The order relates to the upgrade of 84-km stretch of the Panvel-Indapur stretch of NH-17 in Maharashtra under Phase-III of the National Highways Development Project (NHDP).

Private sector lender Kotak Mahindra Bank has increased its term deposit rates by up to 0.50 per cent. The change in interest rates is with effect from January 22.

India's trade deficit will widen till March 2011 and is likely to be between $115 and 125 billion. "The trade deficit for the year is likely to be anywhere between $115 and 125 billion," Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Anup Pujari said.
