Almost a million people - and over half the available television audience - watched the extended Six One News (average 770,000 and peak of 915,000). Figures stayed high for the extended Nine O'Clock News which had an average audience of 772,000 and a peak of 872,000. This was followed by a Prime Time Budget Special which included an interview with the Minister of Finance, Brian Lenihan TD and his Opposition counterpart, Michael Noonan, TD of Fine Gael which was watched by an average of 658,000 people and a peak of almost 800,000 ( 770,000).
And RTÉ/ie/News had over 2.5 million page impressions yesterday, by far the highest this year. The Business Section also saw a significant increase with over 200,000 impressions. Live Video was also in demand with 151,376 live streams in total. News and Current Affairs also dominated the RTÉ Player taking up 6 of the top 10 most streamed items yesterday. On Mobile the Budget again featured strongly, with the Budget Tracker delivering 16,622 page impressions or 12% of all m.rte.ie's page impressions.
