You can get another item that might weigh exactly the same amount in silver and it can cost you 80% less. Avoid paying for a name. "When it comes to a gemstone that you're going to wear in a ring, you want a gemstone that's a little bit harder...like sapphire, ruby or anything in the corundum family, which is much harder than say, an emerald", Malvin says.
