BeyondPV to list on Taiwan Emerging Stock Market

BeyondPV to list on Taiwan Emerging Stock Market : BeyondPV will be listed on Taiwan's Emerging Stock Market on December 8, 2010, becoming Taiwan's first thin-film photovoltaic (PV) solar module maker to be publicly traded. BeyondPV said that orders for 2011 are good but worries that its capacity will not be able to fulfill all orders. The company plans to double capacity in 2011, better manage cost via domestic materials and triple revenues.

Currently BeyondPV mainly manufactures 1.1m x 1.4m solar modules, and its annual capacity is at about 8MWp. The company plans to raise NT$700-800 million (US$23.25-26.57 million) in the first quarter of 2011 for capacity expansion, which will include adding two more plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) machines

BeyondPV pointed out that its tandem-junction thin-film modules and building-integrated PV (BIPV) modules have helped the company differentiate from mainstream crystalline silicon solutions, and thus orders for 2011 are not an issue.

BeyondPV will post NT$110 million in revenues in 2010 and produced about 3MWp worth of solar modules, according to market watchers, adding that 2011 revenues will increase 250-300%.

BeyondPV procures more than half of its manufacturing materials from Taiwan-based suppliers, which are 70% less costly compared with overseas sources and has helped it better manage cost, the company said.

See-through modules now also account for about 4% of production and will climb to 30% in 2013, the company added.
